Happy May Junior Revs!

I hope you all had a great, and busy, April like the team! We started the month off with our New England Amputee Soccer exhibition match during the halftime against NYCFC on Saturday April 1, where the team won 2-0. During this match, we got to see the two teams that feature players from the United States Amputee Soccer Team. The Revs then picked up a point in a 1-1 draw.

The next week saw a 4-0 win against CF Montreal. The Revs then went on the road for another 1-1 draw against Columbus Crew. The team then came back home to host Sporting Kansas City and had a 2-1 win thanks to a brace from Giacomo Vrioni. On the last match day of the month, we tied FC Cincinnati 1-1. Thanks to these results, we’re currently the number one seed in the East!

The Revs participated in the third round of the U.S Open Cup and defeated Hartford Athletic 2-1, thanks to a late Dave Romney header to close out the match. For the Round of 32 we have been drawn against USL Championship side the Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC on May 9 at 7:30 p.m.

We added a veteran MLS defender to our roster, Ben Sweat. Sweat came from Sporting Kansas City and was signed through 2023 season with an option for 2024. He has made 121 MLS regular season appearances with 106 starts, and 14 assists. We are looking forward to having Sweat contribute to our current great run of form!

This month we have only one home match against the Chicago Fire FC, which will be our annual Salute to Heroes! Make sure to stay for post-match fireworks! In addition, there will be four away matches, against Toronto FC, Inter Miami CF, Philadelphia Union, and Atlanta United FC. Be sure to tune in for those matches through the MLS Season Pass on Apple TV!

On June 7 we are bringing back one of our favorite events, Bowl for a Goal! Bowl for a Goal is our annual charity fundraiser for the Special Olympics of Massachusetts. Be sure to get your tickets for a night of music, entertainment, food, and prizes! You’ll also be able to meet your favorite Revolution players. All while raising funds for a great cause!

Even though we only have one home match this month, I will be very busy attending events all throughout New England. Be sure you follow my Twitter and Instagram accounts @REALSlyde to keep track of where I’ll be! And don’t forget to check in at the Junior Revs tent at each home match you attend to qualify for our end of the season rewards! As always, if you would like to say hi my email is Slyde@revolutionsoccer.net.
