MONTREAL – The New England Revolution saw its six-game winning streak grind to a halt on Saturday night, losing 3-0 to the Montreal Impact at Stade Saputo. With the loss, which was New England’s first in eight games, the Revs are now 13-10-6 for 46 points on the season, dropping the club to second place in the Eastern Conference, one point behind Columbus and one point ahead of D.C. United and the New York Red Bulls, who share third place.

Venegas’ shot glanced off Steve Neumann, who was making his first start of the season, and curled just out of the reach of goalkeeper Bobby Shuttleworth to give the Impact a 1-0 lead.
Designated Player Didier Drogba and midfielder Ignacio Piatti nearly doubled Montreal’s lead in the 15th and 20th minutes respectively. Drogba saw his shot from outside the New England area flash off the top of the crossbar, while Piatti’s attempt flew inches over the bar.
Charlie Davies had the Revs' best chance of the first half, seeing a header cleared off the line by Laurent Ciman in the 31st minute from a Neumann cross, keeping the Impact lead at 1-0 going into the break.
Montreal doubled their lead in the 60th minute when Didier Drogba tallied his fourth of the season, firing a free kick that deflected off Kelyn Rowe and into the net, giving the Impact a 2-0 lead.
After Montreal’s Marco Donadel was sent off in the 72nd minute after receiving a straight red card for hard challenge on Andrew Farrell, the Impact managed to add another goal in the 76th minute through substitute Dilly Duka. Drogba was again in the center of the action, slipping through Duka, who finished past Shuttleworth from inside the Revs’ area.
The Revs almost pulled a goal back in the 84th minute when Chris Tierney pushed forward and played a hard ball across the Montreal area to Juan Agudelo, whose flicked attempt flew over the bar as the Impact saw out the 3-0 victory.
