Decision Day to determine Revs’ seed, opponent in Round 1 of MLS Cup Playoffs

Playoff Scenarios graphic 2019

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – For the first time in four years the New England Revolution will be part of the postseason picture, as they secured their place in the Audi 2019 MLS Cup Playoffs last weekend. That is, without question, the most important piece of the entire equation.

But the matters of who, when, and where are yet to be determined, and Decision Day presented by AT&T this upcoming Sunday will reveal the Revolution’s opponent in Round 1 of the postseason.

Here’s what we know for sure:

  • The Revs will finish in either 6th or 7th place in the Eastern Conference
  • The Revs will visit either Atlanta United FC or the Philadelphia Union in Round 1 of the Audi 2019 MLS Cup Playoffs on either October 19 or 20

From there, everything gets a bit tricky, and it all depends on what happens in a trio of matches on Sunday: New England at Atlanta, New York City FC at Philadelphia, and Columbus at Toronto.

All of the permutations are laid out in this helpful graphic, but here’s a further explanation to help serve as your guide during all of Sunday’s Decision Day action.
