MIAMI – Inter Miami CF were searching for their first win at Nu Stadium on Saturday night. Instead, the New England Revolution handed them a third straight draw on their new home field and extended their own unbeaten streak to five matches (4‑0‑1) in the process.

It was none other than Carles Gil who opened the scoring for the Revs, beating goalkeeper Dayne St. Clair in the 56th minute. New England looked poised to hold the lead until Germán Berterame equalized for the Herons 20 minutes later. Although New England had chances to regain the lead – threatening to steal all three points – the 1-1 result was a welcome point from a hard-fought battle between two of the East’s top teams.

“From a physical standpoint, it was a very difficult game for us. Our guys gave literally everything. In some moments, I felt we just didn’t have enough energy to maybe be cleaner on the ball in some crucial moments. But I’m very pleased with the effort from the guys,” said head coach Marko Mitrović. “This is our fifth game in a row, and playing every four days, with the travel, I’m very pleased with the effort from the players.”

While Gil put New England on the board, goalkeeper Matt Turner did his part to keep Inter Miami off it, making a career‑high nine saves. The performance brought him to an impressive 15 saves across his last two matches.

“Matt is one of our highest profile players and no matter what position you play, you have to perform. Matt has proven that week-after-week with his performances, but also his attitude. Matt is an amazing professional, and I think that all those efforts pay back, and he’s catching rhythm. We are very happy with Matt,” Mitrović continued.

It was a successful road trip for the Revolution, who began the journey with their first away win of the season against Atlanta United FC. Carrying that momentum into Miami, New England now return to Foxborough four points richer than when they left. With 13 points collected in April, the Revs now sit fourth in the East.

While the Revs are sitting pretty in the standings, they boast the stats to prove just how strong they’ve been this season. New England are tied for the second‑highest goal total in the Eastern Conference with 17, and with just 12 goals conceded in nine matches, they’re also the conference’s third-strongest defensive side.

New England head home from their two-game trip happy with four well deserved points, but the fight doesn’t stop. One more test awaits before they close out April and begin a four‑game homestand in May.

“I think it’s a really important point we earned here. It’s a result of our hard work because it’s not easy to play after two or three days. And then away, it’s not easy to play against a good team like Miami,” said midfielder Alhassan Yusuf, who spent the night repeatedly thwarting the efforts of Inter Miami’s Lionel Messi.

New England have just four days before taking the pitch again, entering the Round of 16 in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, where they’ll host Orlando City SC at Centreville Bank Stadium in Pawtucket, Rhode Island on April 29 (7:30 p.m. ET). They’ll return to regular season play three days later, welcoming Charlotte FC to Gillette Stadium on May 2. With four home wins already this season, the Revs will look to keep their perfect form in Foxborough intact.
