FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Revolution Academy’s Under-18, Under-16, Under-14, and Under-13 teams were back in action this past weekend, with all teams traveling to Epping, N.H. for matches against Seacoast United. All four matches were played on Saturday at the Seacoast United Outdoor Complex.


All the Revolution Academy teams return to the pitch this weekend for the last week of play in the fall season. The Under-14s and Under-13s will travel to Lyndhurst, N.J. to take on Cedar Stars Academy – Bergen on Saturday, while the Under-18s and Under-16s will host the New York Red Bulls at East Providence High School on Sunday.


Following this weekend, the Under-18s and Under-16s will travel to Lakeland Ranch, Fla. for the U.S. Soccer Development Academy Winter Showcase. The Under-18s are set to play Real Salt Lake AZ (Dec. 1), Baltimore Armour (Dec. 2), and the Chicago Fire (Dec. 4). Meanwhile, the Under-16s will play the Colorado Rapids (Dec. 2), the Dallas Texans (Dec. 3), and the Houston Dynamo (Dec. 5).


WEEK HIGHLIGHTS

  • Goalkeeper Eddie Walsh ‘99 (Westwood, Mass.) posted a shutout in the Under-18s’ scoreless draw. Walsh posted five saves en route to his first shutout of the season.
  • Forward Jonathan Ferreira ’01 (Ashland, Mass.) recorded two goals, while forward Luis Blanco ’01 (Pawtucket, R.I.) and midfielder Kaoru Fujiwara ’01 (Lexington, Mass.) each registered a goal and an assist in the Under-16s’ 5-1 victory. In addition, Damian Rivera ’02 (Cranston, R.I.) recorded his first goal at the U-16 level and his eighth overall goal on the season.
  • Forward Gabriel Padilla '02 (Framingham, Mass.) posted his second goal of the season in the Under-14s’ 1-1 draw.
  • Goalkeeper Nickolas Cardona ‘03 (Roxbury, Mass.) played his third 70-minute match of the season for the Under-13s. Cardona recorded a season-high seven saves in the U-13s’ 1-0 loss.
  • Under-13 goalkeeper Eliot Jones'03 (New Britain, Conn.), defender Morris Matthews'03 (Cambridge, Mass.), and defender Zach Sardi-Santos '03 (Newton, Mass.) were unavailable for selection this past weekend due to being called in to the U.S. Boys Under-14 National Team.
