Icelandic winger Arnór Traustason has received his U.S. P-1 visa and is scheduled to travel to the United States this weekend.

Traustason was acquired by the New England Revolution on March 16 and shortly thereafter joined up with the Iceland National Team for a trio of 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers, appearing in all three matches and starting two. With all necessary paperwork now complete, the 27-year-old attacker will soon arrive in New England to join up with his new squad.

Upon arrival Traustason will need to complete a seven-day quarantine period per COVID-19 protocols. He will be permitted to conduct individual workouts during that timeframe, but won’t join his teammates for full training until that weeklong quarantine period is complete.

The Revs are currently wrapping up an 18-day stay on the West Coast, where they’ve already played four preseason matches in preparation for 2021. They’ll face their final preseason test on Saturday, April 10, when they’ll battle Los Angeles FC (3 p.m. ET), before returning to Foxborough following the match.

New England will open the season on Saturday, April 17, when they’ll visit Chicago Fire FC. Coverage begins at 8:30 p.m. ET on WBZ-TV as part of the club’s new broadcast partnership with CBS Boston.
