DL - U23s vs. Mexico

Fresh off his international debut, center back Henry Kessler and the United States Under-23 Men’s National Team take on Mexico as they close out their play in Group A of the Concacaf Men’s Olympic Qualifying Championship on Wednesday night. Coverage begins at 9:30 p.m. ET on FS1 (English) and TUDN (Spanish).

Kessler and the U.S. Under-23 National Team secured their place in the semifinals on Sunday night, as Kessler went 90 minutes in his international debut to help the U.S. to a 4-0 win over the Dominican Republic. The 22-year-old starting alongside Justen Glad at center back was extremely clean on the ball, completing 71 of 73 passes (97.26% accuracy) as the U.S. maintained 65 percent of the possession and earned their second consecutive shutout in the tournament.

The U.S. will finish their Group A play with a battle against Mexico on Wednesday night. While both the Americans and Mexico have secured their spots in the upcoming semifinals, the seeding is still to be determined. In order to earn the No. 1 seed, the U.S. will need a win against Mexico in order to overcome the goal differential, as Mexico currently has +6, which is one more than the red, white and blue’s +5.
