Kessler, U.S. U23s back in action Sunday night vs. Dominican Republic (7 p.m. ET)

DL - US U23s - Kessler March 21

Group A of the Concacaf Men’s Olympic Qualifying Championship continues on Sunday night as Henry Kessler and the United States Under-23 Men’s National Team take on the Dominican Republic. Coverage begins at 7 p.m. ET on FS1 (English) and TUDN (Spanish).

Kessler was an unused substitute in the tournament opener on Thursday as the Americans utilized a first-half goal from Jesus Ferreira and a stellar performance from goalkeeper David Ochoa to claim a 1-0 win over Costa Rica. With just two days between matches, U.S. U23s head coach Jason Kreis is expected to rotate his squad for tonight’s contest, particularly in the heat and humidity of Mexico.

The Dominican Republic opened the competition with a 4-1 loss to Mexico, which currently sits atop Group A based on goal difference. The U.S. will meet Mexico in the group-stage finale on Wednesday, with the group’s top two finishers claiming spots in the all-important semifinal round.

Kessler’s New England Revolution teammate Tajon Buchanan was the star of Canada’s opener, scoring both goals in a 2-0 win over El Salvador on Friday night. Buchanan and Canada will be back in action on Monday evening when they’ll take on Haiti and Revolution II defender François Dulysse at 6 p.m. ET (FS1 and TUDN).
