FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Revolution (5-4-7, 22 pts.) are set to visit New York City FC (8-6-2, 26 pts.) tonight at Yankee Stadium for the third and final regular season meeting between the two Eastern Conference sides. The match kicks off at 4:30 p.m. and airs locally on NBC Sports Boston, as well as on the radio at 98.5 The Sports Hub and WBIX 1260 AM Nossa Radio USA. Here is a closer look at New England’s lineup for Wednesday’s contest:

Lineup Notes:

  • New England’s lineup features two changes from its most recent Starting XI on Oct. 7 vs. Toronto FC. Cristian Penilla replaces Diego Fagundez, and Teal Bunbury replaces Adam Buksa.
  • The defensive group of DeJuan JonesHenry KesslerAndrew Farrell, and Brandon Bye is making its eighth start together this season and its fourth in a row.
  • Tommy McNamara, making his seventh start since joining the Revolution, returns to Yankee Stadium, where he played four seasons with New York City FC from 2015-18. The seventh-year pro notched 13 goals and 14 assists in his NYCFC career, and has tallied seven times with eight helpers at Yankee Stadium.
  • Henry Kessler, a New York City native, is set to make his 17th appearance of the season and 13th start, both of which lead all 2020 MLS SuperDraft selections. 
  • Brandon Bye maintains his position as the lone Revolution player to start all 17 matches this season. Bye leads the team in minutes played (1,361).
  • Andrew Farrell, making his 14th start of the season, has registered a team-best eight consecutive 90-minute shifts. Farrell ranks first on the team in blocks (10) and second in clearances (51).
  • Scott Caldwell wears the captains’ armband and makes his 10th start of the season this afternoon. Caldwell has logged 90-minute shifts in central midfield in each of the last five contests.
  • Tajon Buchanan continues to add to his career-high 16 appearances, six starts and five consecutive starts this season. Buchanan registered three shots on goal in New England’s most recent contest against New York City, a 0-0 draw at Gillette Stadium on Sept. 19.
  • Lee Nguyen (51G/49A), making his sixth consecutive start and seventh straight appearance since re-joining the Revolution, needs one assist to become the first player in New England history to register 50 goals and 50 assists with the club.
  • Cristian Penilla returns to the Starting XI for the first time since Sept. 12. Penilla, making his 10th start of the season and the 80th appearance of his MLS career, leads the team in assists (4) and has appeared in every match this season.
  • Teal Bunbury returns to the Starting XI after coming off the bench in last Wednesday’s match against Toronto FC. Bunbury will make his 14th start of the season and is now three starts away from reaching 200 for his MLS career.

Bench Notes:

  • Diego Fagundez (256) is five appearances shy of matching Shalrie Joseph (261) for the club’s all-time regular season games played record. Fagundez has appeared in 14 matches this season.
  • Matt Polster returns to the match day squad after missing two games with an injury suffered on Sept. 27.
  • Adam Buksa has appeared in every match this season and ranks second on the team in shots (38) and shots on goal (13).
  • Kelyn Rowe needs one assist to reach 40 and claim sole possession of fourth-place among New England’s all-time assists leaders. His next goal will be his 30th in MLS.
