RECENT FORM VS. NASHVILLE SC

This will be the first-ever match between the New England Revolution and Nashville SC, as 2020 is the inaugural MLS season for one of the league's newest expansion sides.

While this will be the initial meeting between New England and Nashville, there is recent history between these two teams. In November 2019, Nashville selected former Revolution defender Jalil Anibaba, who played two seasons in New England from 2018-2019, in the third round of the MLS Expansion Draft. The Revs received $50,000 in General Allocation Money as compensation for having a player selected in the Expansion Draft. Saturday's clash will be the first time Anibaba faces his former teammates.

Nashville is coming off a 1-1 draw against the Houston Dynamo at Nissan Stadium, where the hosts conceded late and settled for one point. Meanwhile, the Revs returned to Foxborough with three points after a 2-0 win at D.C. United. Combined with last week's 3-1 victory over the Montreal Impact it was New England's first back-to-back wins of the season, which provides a confidence boost as the Revs return home to Gillette Stadium.

To add to the current momentum New England has built, the Revs currently sit at 5th place in the East with 21 points, which is five points ahead of 9th place Nashville SC (16 points).

As both teams look to make history at Gillette Stadium this weekend by securing a win in their first-ever meeting, it will be a game that you won’t want to miss.

MATCHDAY GUIDE | New England Revolution vs. Nashville SC | October 3, 2020 -

On Saturday night the Revs will be sporting "The Original," New England's primary kit designed as a nod to the club's original 1996 look, as Major League Soccer and the Revs continue their milestone 25th season. The sleek white stripe across the jersey echoes the angled stripes across the '96 kit, while the blue top is complemented by red shorts similar to those worn by the Revolution's first-ever squad.

You can own "The Original" by picking one up at the Gillette Stadium ProShop, or by ordering online HERE.
