FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – New England Revolution II (1-5-2, 5 pts.) fell to Chattanooga Red Wolves SC on Wednesday night at Gillette Stadium, 2-1. Orlando Sinclair scored his first goal as a member of Revolution II while goalkeeper Joe Rice recorded eight saves on the night.


“Before the game, coach made a point of wanting us to compete,” said Rice. “So that got me in the mindset of just wanting to perform at the highest level I possibly can. Fortunately for me, the shots were within my reach and I was able to get them.”


Chattanooga opened the scoring in the tenth minute with a 40-yard strike by defender Jason Ramos. Sinclair leveled the match just before halftime with his first goal of the season, assisted by Connor Presley. An own goal by New England’s Diego Souza in the 83rd minute was the difference on the night.


Revolution forward Isaie Louis, 15, made his professional debut in the 87th minute, becoming the youngest player to feature for Revolution II this season. He is also the 12th current or former Academy player to make an appearance for Revolution II this year, and the 19th different player to make his professional debut with Revolution II.


New England will hit the road for its next four contests, beginning with two matches next week against FC Tucson on Wednesday, September 16 and Union Omaha on Saturday, September 19. Kickoff is scheduled for 10:30 p.m. ET Wednesday and 8:00 p.m. ET on Saturday with both matches streaming live on ESPN+ in the United States.


“I think we have our identity but in terms of focus, maybe being on the road and just a group of 18 guys will help,” said Revolution II Head Coach Clint Peay. “But in general, I think the guys just need to take it one day at a time, one game at a time, and realize that we’re just trying to get better every time we step on the field and hopefully we grow from each game.”

Orlando Sinclair off the Mark in 2020

  • Forward Orlando Sinclair scored his first goal of the season in first-half stoppage time, a header assisted by Connor Presley. The Deportivo Saprissa product tallied two shots on the night in an 87-minute shift.


Isaie Louis Becomes Youngest Ever to Play Professionally for Revolution Franchise

  • Forward Isaie Louis made his first appearance of the season, becoming the youngest player to feature professionally for Revolution II at age 15.
  • The Everett, Mass. product is the 19th different Revolution II player to make his professional debut this season and the 12th current or former Academy product to do so.


Diego Souza Makes First Start

  • Defender Diego Souza, 17, made his first professional start and second appearance of the season in tonight’s match, playing 90 minutes at left back. The Hyannis, Mass. resident finished the night with a team-high four interceptions and nine possessions gained.


Joe Rice Records Eight Saves

  • Goalkeeper Joe Rice set a new career single-game high with eight saves on the night, topping his previous high of six set on three separate occasions this season.
  • Rice currently leads all USL League One goalkeepers this season with 33 saves.


Revolution II Makes Four Changes to the Starting Lineup

  • New England saw four changes to the starting lineup from its most recent match on Sept. 4 vs. Forward Madison. Diego Souza, Colby Quinones, Connor Presley, and Mayele Malango getting the nod in place of Ryan Spaulding, Ryo Shimazaki, Tiago Mendonca, and Michael Tsicoulias.
