MATCHDAY GUIDE | New England Revolution vs. Toronto FC | August 31, 2019 -

The Revs will be kicking off 'Kick Childhood Cancer Month' with MLS WORKS when Toronto FC visits Foxborough on Saturday night. In recognition of this upcoming September as Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, there will be special gold-themed match-day elements, including a gold match ball, gold nets, gold corner flags, and Kick Childhood Cancer procession tops.

The Revolution's official 'Kick Childhood Cancer' match will be on September 21 against Real Salt Lake.

CONCUSSION AWARENESS NIGHT

MATCHDAY GUIDE | New England Revolution vs. Toronto FC | August 31, 2019 -

Saturday's match against Toronto will mark New England's fifth annual Concussion Awareness Night in partnership with former Revolution forward Taylor Twellman's foundation, "ThinkTaylor," which has a mission to create social change with regard to traumatic brain injuries.

Since Twellman's playing career was ended prematurely by a concussion he has dedicated an enormous effort to emphasizing awareness, rehabilitation and education regarding head injuries to create a safer and smarter sports culture for all athletes, encompassing youth and professionals alike.

The Revolution's all-time leading goal scorer spoke on this important topic on Monday morning at Gillette Stadium as part of a panel on 'Forward Thinking' with doctors from Spaulding Rehabilitation in anticipation of Concussion Awareness Night.

Twellman invites you to sport the color orange in addition to your Revs gear on Saturday, and take his #TTPledge about concussion awareness at halftime.

RECENT FORM VS. TORONTO FC

The New England Revolution and Toronto FC will battle it out in a pivotal Eastern Conference matchup on Saturday at Gillette Stadium. The Revs sit at 6th place in the East with 38 points, and 7th-place TFC sit only one point back at 37 points, just above the playoff line.

Home-field advantage has played a large role in recent series history, as the hosts have emerged victorious in the past seven meetings, with the Revs taking three wins and TFC holding four. The Revs are 5-0-2 in their last seven meetings with Toronto at Gillette Stadium, dating back to 2014. While these two sides split the series with a win apiece in 2018, TFC took down New England back in March with a dramatic 3-2 win at BMO Field, negating a Carles Gil brace.

However, a lot has changed since the first month of the season, and New England will look to turn the tables on the Reds under the leadership of sporting director and head coach Bruce Arena. With a critical six-point swing on the line, this will be a game that you won't want to miss.

Overall Record vs. Toronto FC: 13-8-9
Home Record vs. Toronto FC: 10-2-4

Last Meeting: Toronto FC 3, Revs 2 (March 17, 2019 at BMO Field)
Last Meeting at New England: Revs 3, Toronto FC 2 (May 12, 2018)
