Revolution Academy Update: November 14, 2018

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Revolution Academy continued its fall season this weekend as all five teams returned to action on Saturday, Nov. 10 and Sunday, Nov. 11. The Under-19, Under-17, Under-15, Under-14, and Under-13 teams all traveled to Epping, N.H. to face the Academy teams of Seacoast United this past weekend.


Three Academy teams will be back in action this upcoming weekend as the U-19s, U-17s, and U-15s will host the New York Red Bulls at Gillette Stadium on Sunday, Nov. 18.

WEEK HIGHLIGHTS

  • Forward Gustavo Cassemiro (Framingham, Mass.—2000) recorded his first goal and tallied his second assist of the season in the U-19s’ 2-1 road win over Seacoast United on Sunday, Nov. 11 in Epping, N.H.
  • Goalkeepers Sebastian Pliszka (Newington, Conn.—2004) and Matthew Tibbetts (Westborough, Mass.—2004) combined efforts to record a shutout in the U-15s’ 3-0 win over Seacoast United on Sunday. Sunday’s win marks the pair’s first collective shutout of the season.
  • Forward Andrew Serafino (East Longmeadow, Mass—2003) netted his sixth goal of the fall campaign in the U-17s’ 2-1 road loss against Seacoast United on Sunday afternoon.
  • Forward T.J. Liquori (Westfield, Mass.—2004) scored his seventh goal of the season in the U-15s’ 3-0 win over Seacoast United on Sunday in New Hampshire. Liquori now has the second-most goals in the Academy this season.
  • Forward Olger Escobar (Lynn, Mass.—2006) scored a brace in the U-13s’ 4-1 victory over Seacoast United on Saturday. The strikes were Escobar’s fourth and fifth goals of the fall campaign.
  • Forward Jiovanny Gabriel (Providence, R.I.—2006) scored a goal and tallied an assist in the U-13s’ 4-1 road win over Seacoast United on Saturday. The goal was Gabriel’s first of the season, while the assist was his second of the fall campaign.
