CONCUSSION AWARENESS NIGHT

MATCHDAY GUIDE: New England Revolution vs. Montreal Impact | October 28, 2018 -

Sunday’s season finale against Montreal will mark New England’s fourth annual Concussion Awareness Night in partnership with former Revolution forward Taylor Twellman’s foundation, “Think Taylor,” which has a mission to create social change in the world of traumatic brain injuries.

Since Twellman’s playing career was ended prematurely by a concussion he has dedicated all of his efforts to emphasizing awareness, rehabilitation and education regarding head injuries to create a safer and smarter sports culture for athletes.

Taylor invites you to sport the color orange in addition to your Revs gear on Sunday, and take his #TTPledge about concussion awareness HERE.

RECENT FORM VS. MONTREAL IMPACT

This will be the third and final match between the New England Revolution and Montreal Impact this season.

The Revs and Impact have split this year’s first two meetings, with each side scoring four goals in big home victories. The Revs first rolled past the Impact in a 4-0 win over the 10-man visitors in April, but only four weeks later Montreal turned the tables to defeat New England 4-2 at Stade Saputo.

While the Revs have been eliminated from postseason contention, this will be a decisive game for Montreal. The Impact currently sit at seventh place in the East on 46 points, just two points back of sixth-place Columbus Crew SC for the final playoff spot. Montreal need to win on Sunday and hope that Columbus loses or draws at home against Minnesota United to reach the postseason.

These two teams also met on Decision Day last year at Stade Saputo, where the match ended in dramatic fashion as Kelyn Rowe came off the bench to score a late game winner in the Revs’ 3-2 victory to finish out the campaign. The Revs will look to repeat the feat in the last game of the 2018 season, and get a victory in front all of their loyal supporters coming out to Gillette Stadium.

Overall Record vs. Montreal Impact: 8-8-2

Home Record vs  Montreal Impact: 4-3-1

Last Meeting: Impact 4, Revs 2 (May 5, 2018 at Stade Saputo)
Last Meeting at Gillette Stadium: Revs 4, Impact 0 (April 6, 2018)
