Academy U14s Win Tournament

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Revolution Academy's Under-18, Under-16, and Under-14 teams, as well as the New England Revolution '03s, recently concluded play for the 2016-2017 season.

The U-18s competed in Group A of the USSDA Playoffs in Westfield, Ind., where they posted a 2-1-0 mark and finished runner-up in the group to Crossfire Premier (Kirkland, Wash.). The U-16s and U-14s participated in the USSDA Summer Showcase, also in Westfield, Ind., which saw each team post a 1-2-0 record over their respective three matches.

Finally, the New England Revolution Academy won the International U-14 tournament hosted by the Montreal Impact. The International U-14, in its second edition, featured six MLS academy teams, one Québec academy team, and one Italian academy team, where players born in 2003 or later were eligible. Goalkeeper Eliot Jones (New Britain, Conn.) was awarded the Best Goalkeeper trophy, while midfielder Sam White (Worcester, Mass.) finished as co-leading scorer with Atlanta United FC's Joseph Collins. After going 0-2-1 in the Group Stage against the Chicago Fire, Montreal Nord, and Bologna FC 1909, the Revs earned three consecutive wins. New England defeated the Montreal Impact, 3-0, in a quarterfinal match, the Houston Dynamo, 3-2, in the semifinal match, and Bologna FC 1909, 1-0, in the final.

POSTSEASON HIGHLIGHTS
