Revolution loans Donnie Smith to Rochester Rhinos

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Revolution today loaned midfielder/defender Donnie Smith to the Rochester Rhinos, the team’s USL PRO affiliate. Smith has been loaned for Rochester’s home match against the Richmond Kickers tomorrow, and he is expected to return to the Revs on Sunday.

In his previous short-term loan to Rochester, Smith made three appearances from April 27 to May 3. Smith is in his second year with the Revs after the club drafted him in the second round (21st overall) in the 2013 MLS SuperDraft out of the UNC-Charlotte. Smith has two career MLS appearances – both starts – with the last coming on March 15, 2014, at Philadelphia.

Smith joins three other Revs players already on long-term loan in Rochester: defender Jossimar Sanchez, goalkeeper Luis Soffner and midfielder Alec Sundly.
