Revs to play winner of Richmond Kickers-N.Y. Greek American Atlas in U.S. Open Cup

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Revolution will begin play in the 2014 U.S. Open Cup in mid-June when the team enters the bracket in the fourth round with the rest of the U.S.-based Major League Soccer teams.

The Revolution will face the winner of the N.Y. Greek American Atlas (USASA) – Richmond Kickers (USL PRO) third-round match, which will be played on Wednesday, May 28, in Richmond.

Should N.Y. Greek American Atlas upset Richmond, the Revolution would host the United States Adult Soccer Association club at Brown University in Providence, R.I., on Wednesday, June 11.

Should the Kickers top N.Y. Greek American Atlas, the Revolution will travel to Richmond for their fourth-round match against the USL PRO club on Wednesday, June 18.

The locations of the fourth-round match-ups were determined by a random selection process conducted by U.S. Soccer officials.

Should the Revolution a match at Brown, tickets would go on sale after May 28.

The Revolution is the 2007 U.S. Open Cup champion, a title that was the club’s first-ever cup tournament title. The Revs have a 13-10-4 all-time record in U.S. Open Cup matches.
