Postgame Quotes: Revs 0, Chivas USA 3

Coach Steve Nicol:
“There are always occasions in a season where you have just nightmare games. That was certainly one. But hopefully we’ve got rid of it for the season. Forgetting tactics and all kind of things, as soon as the whistle goes, you have to win the battle against your opponent. We better be ready for that next Saturday.”

“You have to read the game, and you have to make good decisions. We didn’t do that. On the goals we made bad decisions, and we weren’t alert, we weren’t reading the plays well enough. It was all too obvious tonight.”
“Early on we had a couple decent moments. But when you’re under pressure for so long, eventually when you do get [possession], you don’t have the strength to use the ball well. The longer it went on the harder it got for us, because we did all the chasing and all the running and that catches up with you eventually.”

Goalkeeper Bobby Shuttleworth:
“I thought that we just didn’t pass the ball particularly well. We passed the ball backwards a lot; we didn’t really get the ball in dangerous areas and get the ball in the box. Obviously when that’s not happening, we’re going to be soaking up pressure all night.”

“I think we have to just come together as a team. Obviously we got to work harder. I think we got outworked tonight a bit. I think we got to look ourselves in the mirror and decide if we want this season to go in a positive way.”

Midfielder Shalrie Joseph:
“We were definitely confident coming in here, we tried to get after it tonight and get the three points. Unfortunately, we started off really slow and we didn’t keep possession of the ball. We were chasing the game a little bit and they got a couple crosses, like three of four crosses into the box, and they scored on two of them.”

“Defensively we just weren’t sharp enough, we didn’t close the ball down, we didn’t keep possession when we needed to. Overall we just weren’t good enough tonight.”
“It was just simple mistakes, lack of concentration, knowing what’s around you and communication from all over of the field. We didn’t have that tonight. We still have a young team, we still have an inexperienced team, we still have a lot of growing to do. We have to put our work in next week and come out for Colorado.”
