The New England Revolution today announced several personnel changes to the club’s coaching staff. Clint Peay, Head Coach of Revolution II will serve as Interim Head Coach of the Revolution effective immediately. Marcelo Santos, Assistant Coach of Revolution II, will also join the staff as Assistant Coach. In addition, the Revolution have parted ways with Assistant Coaches Dave van den Bergh and Shalrie Joseph.
 
Peay, 49, brings more than 20 years of coaching experience to the position. He has compiled a 34-36-16 record over four seasons as Head Coach of Revolution II since his appointment to the role on Nov. 20, 2019. This season, Peay’s leadership has helped Revolution II secure a berth in the MLS NEXT Pro Playoffs, set to begin in late September, with the league’s third-best record at 14-5-8 (56 pts.), with six shootout wins. The Columbia, Maryland native’s coaching resume also includes head coaching experience at the NCAA Division I and U.S. Youth National Team levels, as well as assistant coaching tenures at the professional and collegiate levels.
 
Santos, who has been an assistant coach on the Revolution II staff under Peay since 2020, will also work with the first team as an assistant coach. Santos previously served as head coach in the Revolution Academy for multiple seasons before joining the newly launched second team in 2020. Prior to joining the Revolution’s pro player pathway, Santos served as an assistant coach at Marquette University for 10 seasons.
