Updated August 31, 2015

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – New England Revolution stars Juan Agudelo, Jose Goncalves and Chris Tierney will help raise money for charity by becoming amateur mixologists at the Revs’ annual Celebrity Bartending fundraiser on Wednesday, Sept. 2. The trio will be behind the bar at McGreevy’s in Boston, serving signature drinks and additional libations to those in attendance. All tips during the event – cash or credit –  will benefit the ThinkTaylor Foundation, which was founded by Revolution legend Taylor Twellman.

Twellman, who will be in attendance at McGreevy’s along with the trio of Revolution players, began the ThinkTaylor Foundation shortly after being forced to retire from soccer in 2010 as a result of complications from multiple concussions. Now an analyst at ESPN, Twellman strives to create social change in the world of traumatic brain injuries through ThinkTaylor by generating increased awareness, recognition and education, especially in the sports world.

The Celebrity Bartending fundraiser will kick off at 6:30 p.m. at McGreevy’s (911 Boylston Street, Boston, Mass. 02115), with Agudelo, Goncalves and Jones scheduled to serve up cocktails from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The Rev Girls and team mascot, Slyde, will also be on site with a series of Revolution giveaways, as well as a raffle for fans in attendance featuring signed memorabilia and tickets to the Revs’ home game against Orlando City SC on Saturday, Sept. 5. There is no cover charge for the event, however fans must be 21 and older and possess a valid ID for entry.

Later in the month, on Wednesday, Sept. 23, Teal Bunbury, Andrew Farrell, Kelyn Rowe and Bobby Shuttleworth will bring Celebrity Bartending to Rhode Island, serving up drinks at Murphy’s Law in Pawtucket. All tips from that event will benefit Binkeez for Comfort which is a non-profit organization that donates blankets and other items with the intention of bringing comfort to individuals experiencing health issues, particularly children in hospitals and hospice facilities in the United States of America. More details, including specific times for this event, will be available soon.
