FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – New England Revolution II announced today that the club has signed forward Jordan Adebayo-Smith and goalkeeper Nico Campuzano to MLS NEXT Pro professional contracts ahead of the 2023 season.
Adebayo-Smith joins New England through permanent transfer from the Tampa Bay Rowdies. The USL Championship club loaned the forward to the New York Red Bulls II last season, where the 21-year-old striker logged over 2,400 minutes and netted seven goals with three assists across 33 appearances. Adebayo-Smith scored four goals and recorded one assist with the Rowdies in 2021. Eligible to represent the United States, Nigeria, and England at the international level, the East London native developed at East Soccer Base in South East London before joining Lincoln City Football Club in 2018.
Campuzano, 24, signs with Revs II after spending the 2022 season with FC Cincinnati 2. The goalkeeper recorded 14 saves across his four appearances last season, earning a 2.47 goals against average. The Cantabria, Spain native made 40 appearances at the University of Pittsburgh, where he earned his Master of Science degree in Information Systems, stopping 118 shots and earning a 29-9-2 record in his two seasons with the Panthers. In 2021, Campuzano was named to the United Soccer Coaches first team South All-Region, All-ACC first team, All-ACC Tournament Team, and All-ACC Academic Team.
