Taylor Twellman at Celebrity Bartending

More than halfway to the weekend guys! Big thanks to everyone who came out to McGreevy’s last night for Celebrity Bartending to benefit the ThinkTaylor Foundation. Jose, Juan and Chris were excellent and a highlight was definitely having Taylor Twellman climb on top of the bar to say a few words. Hey Taylor we thought you were going to start dancing, what gives?

Jermaine Jones was originally slated to appear at last night’s event but in wake of his call-up to the US national teamhe was off training in DC. The Revs are now preparing for Saturday’s game sans Jones. "Losing him now when we just started to get him back in (after an injury) is tough,” said Heaps. Perhaps the fact that Orlando City will be missing their star Kaka is a slight consolation.

Jay Heaps would definitely prefer to have Jermaine Jones in the lineup on Saturday, but he can look at the big picture and appreciate what playing for the US team does for Jones’ game. “It’s a good thing for him going forward as he gets back into the mix with helping the national team from a mentality standpoint,” Heaps said. “I think Jermaine’s definitely at his best when he’s playing for club and country.” Well, I know I can’t wait to see Jones suit up for September’s friendlies.

The Revs are currently enjoying a five game unbeaten streak and Lee Nguyen credits teamwork for that success. “That’s one thing we’ve been preaching all year—we need all eleven guys working,” said Nguyen. “We’ve been doing that well.” Another principle the Revs have been relying on is keeping their shape. “Jay (Heaps) and the staff have really focused on our shaping these last five weeks,” said Chris Tierney. “It’s not about just the back four defending, or the goalkeeper having a good game or anything like that. It’s about team mentality of defending and playing on both sides of the ball.”

Now for some shameless self- promotion: watch this week’s Coffield’s Cornerwith special guest Charlie Davies. We talk about being Boston College Eagles and his awesome style sense.
