Revolution Headlines: September 22

Jeremy Hall vs. Montreal Impact

Time for some headlines, people!

The Revolution suffered a 3-0 lossat the hands of Montreal, effectively putting an end to their eight-game unbeaten streak. Coach Heaps spoke to the media after the game and said, “Tonight is disappointing, I’m not at the point of looking at the whole week right now. I’m looking at tonight. I don’t think we put ourselves in the best position to win.” Tough loss for the boys, but in true Revs fashion I’m sure they’re already focused on Philadelphia.

Speaking of Philadelphia, the Revs are hosting Philly at home on Saturday. The Revolution saw their six-game winning streak snapped on Saturday while Philadelphia put an end to their four-game winless streak on Sunday. This is the third meeting between the two teams this season and the first at home for the Revolution. The Revs won the first two matchups on the road.

Now it’s time for the always confusing power rankings roundup! ESPN has the Revs at number threeand cited the loss on Saturday as a “hit to their (Revs) burgeoning confidence.” Fair enough ESPN, fair enough. Sports Illustrated also has the Revolution at number threeand they categorized the performance against Montreal as “flat."  Then we have Soccer America. Hey Soccer America, I remember my first power rankings! Our pet’s heads are falling off as they have us ranked at number six. Enough said.

That’s all for today, hope you guys like my jokes and if you don’t - just pretend you do! Okay, thanks.
