FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Revolution Academy's Under-15, Under-14, and Under-13 teams opened their USSDA spring slate of matches over the weekend. All three teams hosted and defeated New York Soccer Club at East Providence High School.
All five teams will be back in action once again on Saturday, March 17 against Seacoast United. The U-13s and U-14s will play matches at Bayside FC, while the U-15s, U-17s, and U-19s will play their contests at Gillette Stadium. The U-15s, U-17s, and U-19s will return to Gillette Stadium on Sunday for matches against the Montreal Impact.
WEEK HIGHLIGHTS
- Defender Morris Matthews '00 (Cambridge, Mass.) registered his first goal of the season in the fifth minute of the U-15s 3-2 victory over New York Soccer Club. Matthews scored a combined three goals with the U-14s and U-13s last season.
- Six different players made the scoresheet for the U-14s in their 3-0 win over New York Soccer Club. Midfielder Austin Bush '04 (Southampton, Mass.), forward Michael Hofstetter '04 (Providence, R.I.), and midfielder Christian Martins '04 (Framingham, Mass.) recorded goals, while midfielder Dylan Henao '04 (Saugus, Mass.), midfielder Jack Panayotou '04 (Cambridge, Mass.), and forward Sekou Kamara '04 (North Providence, R.I.) provided assists.
- In the U-14s match, goalkeepers Matthew Tibbets '04 (Westborough, Mass.) and Trevor Piltch '05(Falmouth, Maine) combined to register a shutout for the Revs.
- Forward Marco Dos Santos '02 (Windham, N.H.) scored his U-13 leading eighth goal in the Revs' 2-0 victory over New York Soccer Club. Goalkeeper Sam Martin '05 (Westwood, Mass.) posted a shutout in the win.
