COLUMBUS, Ohio (August 30, 2026) – The New England Revolution (11-7-4, 37 pts.) kicked off a four-game road stretch with a 3-1 win over the Columbus Crew (5-12-5, 20 pts.) in come-from-behind fashion on Sunday afternoon at ScottsMiracle-Gro Field.

Carles Gil delivered a standout performance to power the Revolution attack, tallying two assists and a sensational goal, his third career MLS game with three contributions. Matt Polster and Dor Turgeman added goals of their own, while Jack Harrison became the fastest Revolution player to reach six assists, now with a helper in each of his first four starts for the club.

The home side took an early lead eight minutes into the contest, as Mohamed Farsi slipped a pass to Brais Méndez, whose one-time finish took a slight deflection and found the back of the net. The Revolution responded and settled into the match, keeping Columbus pinned into its own end for the final 30 minutes of the half.

In the 32nd minute, New England found the equalizer from a corner kick opportunity. Gil delivered a service to the back post, where center back Mamadou Fofana rose above his marker and headed the ball down to an open Polster. The veteran, making his 200th Revolution appearance in all competitions, took a touch before rifling a low strike into the bottom-right corner for his first goal of the 2026 campaign. The helper was Gil's 150th regular season goal contribution, making him the 20th player in league history to reach reach that mark, while Fofana's primary assist was his second of the year.

With less than five minutes remaining in the first half, New England took a 2-1 lead through Turgeman. After Harrison connected with Gil outside Columbus' penalty area, the Spaniard slipped a perfectly weighted pass into Turgeman's path, whose well-timed run put him behind the Crew backline. The striker showed no hesitation, drilling a shot into the upper-left corner to mark his sixth tally of the season. Harrison’s secondary helper extended his assist streak to four games, while Gil recorded his first two-assist outing since September 2024.

After the break, New England maintained steady control of the action before rounding out the scoring in the 79th minute. After a series of near misses in the attacking end, Gil and Homegrown Player Peyton Miller combined for the insurance goal with clever combination player on the edge of Columbus' 18-yard box. Despite pressure from multiple Columbus defenders, Gil maintained possession and found Miller on the left side of the box. The 18-year-old took a touch and returned a pass into Gil's path, who deftly curled a lofted chip over Crew goalkeeper Patrick Schulte that nestled into the back of the net. Gil’s finish was his eighth goal of the season, while Miller has now garnered an assist in three consecutive games and recorded a team-high four shots on target to match his career high.

Next week, the Revolution will travel cross-country for a matchup with Western Conference side LA Galaxy on Saturday, September 5.
