New England Revolution re-sign Gustavo Bou through 2023 MLS season

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Revolution have re-signed forward Gustavo Bou to a two-year contract extension through the 2023 Major League Soccer season. Bou will continue to occupy a Designated Player and international roster slot.

“Gustavo has been an essential part of our team since his arrival in 2019 and he has proven to be among the league’s most prolific attacking players,” said Revolution Sporting Director and Head Coach Bruce Arena. “We are pleased to extend Gustavo’s tenure here in New England and look forward to his continued contributions to our team.”

Since arriving in New England in July 2019, Bou has totaled 29 goals and 14 assists across 62 regular season appearances. Entering the Audi 2021 MLS Cup Playoffs, he has also tallied three goals with one assist across five postseason starts. Bou’s total of 43 direct goal involvements in the regular season rank second among all MLS players since his Revolution debut, while his 25 goals from open play pace the league. The Argentinian’s 24 combined goals and assists in 2021 are tied for fourth in MLS, as Bou contributed 15 goals and nine assists this season en route to New England’s first Supporters’ Shield title and the MLS single-season points record. The league’s Player of the Month for July, Bou’s 15 goals finished tied for ninth in the MLS Golden Boot race.
