FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Revolution have re-signed defender DeJuan Jones. Jones, who is entering his second MLS season with New England, will occupy a senior roster spot beginning in 2020.
Jones, 22, totaled 20 regular season appearances and 14 starts in an impactful rookie campaign after being selected 11th overall in the 2019 MLS SuperDraft. He scored one goal and recorded one assist in 1,296 minutes of league action, also making one start in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. The defender added a 90-minute performance at left back in the club’s Audi 2019 MLS Cup Playoffs match at Atlanta United.
Born and raised in Lansing, Mich., Jones played four seasons at Michigan State University before joining the professional ranks. He finished his collegiate career with 16 goals and 14 assists across 75 appearances for the Spartans. Jones earned back-to-back All-Big Ten Second Team selections as a regular starter in 2017 and 2018, and helped lead MSU to the 2018 College Cup Semifinal after an Elite Eight finish the previous year.
