RECENT FORM VS. D.C. UNITED

Historically one of New England's fiercest foes since MLS started in 1996, D.C. and the Revs have a storied history. As part of the previous 89 meetings between these longtime rivals, they've met in the playoffs five times, while there have been five additional battles in the U.S. Open Cup.

New England have held the upper hand in the recent regular-season series, going unbeaten in six straight games since 2019 (3-0-3), including victories in the three most recent contests. In their latest meeting in November 2020, the Revs won in wild fashion, 4-3, at Gillette Stadium. After the Revs scored three unanswered goals to overcome a two-goal deficit, and when the score was leveled heading into the 84th minute, Teal Bunbury put the Revs on top to secure the three points.

The Revs are coming off a hard-fought road point after coming from behind to finish 2-2 against Chicago at Soldier Field. Meanwhile, D.C. will visit Foxborough after an impressive 2-1 home win over NYCFC. Coincidentally in both of these matches, every single goal was scored in the first half.

While New England aims to secure three points in the standings, they're playing for more than themselves on Saturday. The home opener against D.C. marks the first time that fans will be in attendance at Gillette Stadium in more than a year due to the pandemic - since their home opener last year on March 7, 2020. The team is certainly looking to secure a win in the supporters' honor. With all of the emotions of fans finally being back in the stands, this will be a game that you won't want to miss.

Overall Record vs. D.C. United: 30-34-15
Home Record vs. D.C. United: 19-10-9

Last Meeting at Gillette Stadium: Revs 4, D.C. 3 (November 1, 2020)
Last Meeting at Audi Field: Revs 2, D.C 0 (September 27, 2020)

MATCHDAY GUIDE | New England Revolution vs. D.C. United | April 24, 2021 -

On Saturday night the Revs will be sporting "The Original," New England's primary kit designed as a nod to the club's original 1996 look. The sleek white stripe across the jersey echoes the angled stripes across the '96 kit, while the blue top is complemented by red shorts similar to those worn by the Revolution's first-ever squad.

You can own "The Original" by picking one up at the Gillette Stadium ProShop, or by ordering online HERE.
