RECENT FORM VS. COLUMBUS SC

The New England Revolution and Columbus SC will square off in their 83rd overall meeting in all competitions on Sunday evening.

These two original MLS clubs have battled against one another since 1996. Their storied history includes eight postseason meetings, most recently highlighted by last year’s clash in the Eastern Conference Final at Historic Crew Stadium. The Revs fell to the hosts, 1-0, and Columbus went on to be crowned the 2020 MLS Cup champions.

As the Revs host Columbus SC for a rematch of last year’s Eastern Conference Final, New England will aim to turn the tables on their home field with a win at Gillette Stadium.

The Revs return home to battle Columbus after taking a point midweek at the Philadelphia Union. After going 2-1-2 (8 points) through five games, New England remains tied atop the Eastern Conference with CF Montreal. Meanwhile, Columbus has a game in hand on the Revs, going 1-1-2 (5 points) through four games. Columbus will also visit Foxborough looking to bounce back after falling on the road to Toronto FC, 2-0, on Wednesday night.

As the Revs host Columbus SC looking to stay atop the East, along with Gillette Stadium increasing fan capacity to 25%, this will be a nationally-televised thriller that you won’t want to miss.

Overall Record vs. Columbus SC: 23-38-13

SHOW YOUR COLORS

MATCHDAY GUIDE | New England Revolution vs. Columbus SC | May 16, 2021 -

On Sunday evening the Revs will be sporting "The Original," New England's primary kit designed as a nod to the club's original 1996 look. The sleek white stripe across the jersey echoes the angled stripes across the '96 kit, while the blue top is complemented by red shorts similar to those worn by the Revolution's first-ever squad.

You can own "The Original" by picking one up at the Gillette Stadium ProShop, or by ordering online HERE.
