RECENT FORM VS. CHICAGO FIRE FC

A classic MLS rivalry between the New England Revolution and Chicago Fire FC will be reignited on Sunday, when these two sides with a storied history square off at Soldier Field for the first time since 2005, before the Fire's move to Bridgeview. This will be the 64th regular-season match and 84th overall meeting since the Fire's inaugural season in 1998, which includes 15 heated playoff matches between 2000 and 2009.

Chicago was the last opponent the Revs played prior to the pause in the MLS season due to COVID-19 in early March. These two sides played to a 1-1 draw at Gillette Stadium, where forward Adam Buksa used a left-footed strike to curl the ball inside the far post. Buksa’s goal was the first by a first-year Revolution player in a home opener since Saer Sene in 2012.

The last time the Revolution squared off at Chicago was under previous leadership, and this will be the first visit to this Eastern foe under the guidance of head coach Bruce Arena.

Chicago has had four losses in their past six games (1-4-1) and are coming off a scoreless draw at FC Cincinnati. The Revs are traveling following a 2-0 home loss to New York City FC, their first loss in eight league matches (2-1-5). The Revs will look to secure three points against the Fire in this storied rivalry, in Arena's first visit to Soldier Field with the Revolution.

Overall Record vs. Chicago: 22-27-14
Road Record vs. Chicago: 5-17-9

Break out “The Colonial!"

The Revs will be sporting their sleek secondary kits, which take inspiration from uniforms the colonial generals wore in the Revolutionary War.

These jerseys sport a white front with light blue sides and sleeves, and are tied together with navy blue trim. The light blue sides continue to cover the back of the jersey, topped near the neckline with the classic image of the Flag of New England.

You can own "The Colonial" by visiting the Gillette Stadium Pro Shop, or clicking HERE.
