RECENT FORM VS. CHICAGO FIRE FC
The New England Revolution will visit Chicago Fire FC on Wednesday night in a classic MLS rivalry. This will be the 66th regular-season match and 86th overall meeting since the Fire's inaugural season in 1998, which includes 15 heated playoff matches between 2000 and 2009.
The Revs have not faced the Fire since their season opener back in April, when the two teams played to a 2-2 draw at Soldier Field. New England came from behind after conceding twice inside of 11 minutes, as strikers Adam Buksa and Gustavo Bou leveled the score only 27 minutes into the match for each side to take a point to start off the season.
A lot has changed since then.
Chicago sits at 12th place in the East with 23 points, going 6-14-5 through 25 games. The Fire are coming off a 2-0 loss to CF Montréal this past weekend at Stade Saputo. Chicago has gone 1-4-0 in their last five games - all on the road - only scoring one goal in that span since August 21. The Fire have also gone 1-10-1 on the road as a whole this season, only picking up four points away from home.
Meanwhile, New England have been a force on the road with an East-leading record of 7-3-3 as they visit Soldier Field. The Revs are also still No. 1 in the Supporters' Shield race with a 10-point lead over Sporting Kansas City, and first in the East with a 15-point advantage over Nashville SC.
As the Revs look to take another three points and add to their claim atop the league, this will be an Eastern Conference battle you won’t want to miss.
Overall Record vs. Chicago: 23-27-15
Road Record vs. Chicago: 6-17-10
