Happy February Junior Revs!

Your New England Revolution has had an action-packed start to 2024, so much has happened in the last month and we’ve got even more fun planned for this one!

Esmir Bajraktarevic was called up to the national team, making his first senior appearance for the United States Men’s National Team – and he’s only 18 years old! He was the youngest player in the camp and couldn’t stop smiling the whole time! Especially when he got his chance to make his senior team debut. Even better – Esmir got to play with his friend DeJuan Jones who plans to become the best outside back in the league under Caleb Porter. He’ll have plenty of time to do it after signing a 4-year contract extension with the team!

He’s not the only familiar face to re-sign this past month either as Ema Boateng is coming back for another year! He’s played under Caleb Porter before, in 2020 he made 12 appearances across the regular season and playoffs to help Caleb and the Columbus Crew win the MLS Cup. He’ll be joining new signing Jonathan Mensah – a MLS veteran who’s made 185 appearances over 7 seasons and another player who won the 2020 MLS Cup title with Caleb Porter. He’ll be playing in his 8th season with the Revolution this year after signing as a free agent. Joining Jonathan as a new arrival this past month is Henrich Ravas – a 26-year-old Slovakian goalkeeper who was playing with Widzew Lodz in Poland last season. Before that, Ravas had played in Slovakia and even in England for a team called Boston United!

After the Revs finish their preseason camp in Florida, they’ll head down to Panama to play CA Independiente at 8 p.m. on Feb. 21 in the first leg of our Concacaf Champions Cup campaign. From there they’ll fly to the capital to play D.C. United in the first match of the 2024 MLS Season at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 24 before flying home to play the second leg against CA Independiente on Feb. 29 at 8:15 p.m.

If you’d like to help me and the team change the world, take part in this year’s Touches for C.H.A.N.G.E. from Feb. 26 to March 2! You and your friends can pledge to play or donate directly to help raise money for soccer gear and clinics for the Boston Centers for Youth & Families! Use #TouchesForChange on social media to start doing your part to raise awareness and together we can Converse, Help, Amplify, Nurture, Galvanize, and Educate!

While we wait for the season to kick off, you can catch me at different events all over New England. If you see me out and about, make sure to stop by for a picture!

Just a reminder, to check in for each home match you need go to the Junior Revs table in Fan Zone. We’re out there until kick off so there’s plenty of time to stop by! Don’t forget, the more matches you attend and check in for, the better the prize at the end of the year!
