FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – New England Revolution defender Je-Vaughn Watson has been named to the Jamaican national team’s final, 23-man roster for this summer’s Copa America Centenario.

Watson, 32, is set to participate in the second Copa America of his career. Watson made one appearance, starting and playing 90 minutes in a group stage match versus Argentina. The Saint Catherine Parish, Jamaica, native has accrued 52 career caps and scored his second career international goal in a 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifier versus Costa Rica on March 26.

Jamaica will compete in Group C alongside Uruguay, Mexico, and Venezuela. The Reggae Boyz face Uruguay on June 5 in Chicago, Ill., Mexico on June 9 in Pasadena, Calif., and Uruguay on June 13 in Santa Clara, Calif.

Since joining the Revolution ahead of the 2016 regular season, Watson has established himself as a versatile mainstay on the club’s back line. He has started all 11 matches in which he has been available for selection, recording one assist in 836 minutes at left back, right back, and center back.
