Farrell expresses excitement for Turner's call-up with barrage of GIFs and videos

Andrew Farrell and Matt Turner hug

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – It's no secret that New England Revolution goalkeeper Matt Turner worked diligently throughout the 2019 campaign. He began the year as New England's third choice 'keeper, but his efforts ultimately earned him the No. 1 starting spot in net and he led the Revolution to a playoff berth.

To cap off his uphill climb, Turner recently received news that his talent was spotted as the Revs were on the rise, and he has been called in to the U.S. Men's National Team pre-camp ahead of upcoming Concacaf Nations League matches against Canada and Cuba. This will be Turner's first-ever opportunity to put on the U.S. crest, and represent his country.

"I'm really, really happy," Turner said with a smile. "It's a huge honor. It's nothing to take for granted so I'm going to go there and work really hard and try to prove myself at that stage."

Not only is Turner excited for his opportunity with the USMNT, but so are his teammates - in particular former roommate and close friend Andrew Farrell, who could not contain his excitement for Turner on social media when the news broke.

Seven GIFs and one video later from Farrell to be exact ... but who's counting?

"You can be my wingman any time." - Top Gun

"I like large parties." - The Great Gatsby

"Some people want to see you fail. Disappoint them!" - The Joker

Farrell is just really proud of Turner.

That's right.

Farrell knew for years Turner would reach this level.

Well done.

Now it's time for Turner to wake up and live out this dream with the USMNT.

It's rise and shine for the 25-year-old goalkeeper as he embarks on this new chapter of his career. Turner will be with the USMNT in pre-camp from November 2-9 in Bradenton, Fla.
