Matt Kirkpatrick is in his eighth season on the New England Revolution’s sports medicine staff and his four year as the first team’s Rehabilitation Coordinator and Assistant Athletic Trainer. Kirkpatrick originally joined the club as an Academy Athletic Trainer in 2017 and 2018, before ascending to the role of Assistant Athletic Trainer from 2019-21.

A native of Pennsylvania, Kirkpatrick attended Neumann University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in athletic training. After several roles as a student athletic trainer at the high school and collegiate level, including at his alma mater, he joined Reading United A.C. as the club’s Athletic Trainer for a brief spell in 2015. He also assisted Sky Blue FC in a substitute role in August 2015. Kirkpatrick has also held posts at Saucon Valley High School in Pennsylvania as Outreach Athletic Trainer from 2015-16, and Athletic Trainer from 2016-17.

From 2014 to present, Kirkpatrick has been an On-Call Athletic Trainer with ATI Physical Therapy, a nationally recognized rehabilitation provider that specializes in research-based physical therapy, workers’ compensation rehab, employer worksite solutions, sports medicine, and a variety of specialty therapies.
