DL - Ridiclous red cards

MLSSoccer.com recently put out this video of the most ridiculous red cards in MLS history. Pay special attention to No. 2 at the 22-second mark. For those of you who don't remember that match, it was a cold 48-degree night at Vancouver's first MLS home, Empire Field, as the Revolution and Whitecaps squared off for the first time.

Whitecaps forward Eric Hassli converted a penalty onBobby Shuttleworth to give Vancouver a 1-0 lead and celebrated by removing his jersey. But he had another jersey on underneath, so that's cool, right? Wrong. Baldomero Toledo handed Hassli his second yellow, sending him to the showers and giving the Revs a two-man advantage in the 55th minute (current Revolution and then-Whitecaps midfielder Gershon Koffie was shown red earlier in the match).

But the fun wasn't over. Revolution defender A.J. Soares was shown red in the 75th minute, so the final 15 minutes were played 10-v-9, with the Revs still trailing by a goal. This somehow gave the Revs a bit of a boost, as Ilija Stolica thought he knocked home the equalizer in the 85th minute, but it was called back for offside.

Fast-forward to the third minute of stoppage time, where Stolica did equalize for the Revs in dramatic fashion, earning the visitors a point in a mid-week jaunt to Vancouver between two home games. Read the full recap here.
