Social Media Roundup: April 10, 2020 | Farrell dances his way onto TikTok

Social Media Roundup 2020

Another week of social distancing has come and gone, and New England Revolution players can't help but connect with fans virtually. They thrive on those interactions, and as seen on social media, they're looking forward to returning to Gillette Stadium to be reunited with their supporters soon.

Let’s check in with a few players and see what they’ve been up to while isolating.

Andrew Farrell is officially the first New England Revolution player to create a TikTok account (@2fast2farrell). This rendition of dancing with Gustavo Bou in the weight room from early this year is just too good.

Rookie Henry Kessler made his professional debut at the Montreal Impact on February 29 and his home debut at Gillette Stadium on March 7 against the Chicago Fire. The center back has now hit another professional milestone with the Revolution while isolating, and that’s his debut on the Far Post Podcast.

Check out the full episode to hear what Kessler has been up to. Spoiler alert: He’s beginning to learn how to cook.

Two Far Post Podcast first-time appearances in the same week! Striker Adam Buksa comes out of his shell in this long-form interview. He tells jokes about playing video games with his brother, his workout regime and which types of American foods he enjoys.

You’ll just have to just tune in for yourself.

On April 6, 1996, it was a historic day as MLS began its inaugural season. This week marked the official 25th anniversary, and to celebrate, people shared their favorite memories across social.

Charlie Davies and Seth Sinovic chimed in. Davies told his first memory watching the Revs play at Foxboro Stadium, while Sinvoic shared how he was a big fan of the Kansas City Wizards growing up watching games at Arrowhead Stadium.

The NEGU Crew would have had their second night at Gillette Stadium on Saturday, April 4 against the Colorado Rapids. Both Kelyn Rowe and Matt Turner, leaders of the Revs’ NEGU Crew, still searched for a way to cure a bad day, virtually sending smiles on Instagram Live by recounting some of their favorite memories with the charity.

Rowe is also patiently waiting by the phone for a call from pop singer Selena Gomez. Will he hear from her? We’ll have to wait and see …

Rowe isn’t the only one with jokes up his sleeve. A supporter tweeted about finally having time to frame a signed Turner jersey. When Turner caught wind, he thought it looked great but kidded about the potential stench of the jersey.

Brandon Bye has previously shared about the Aspiras Foundation, a nonprofit he founded that empowers youth by providing infrastructure, equipment donations and opportunities for communities in the Dominican Republic.

Bye joined ‘Team Make it Loud’ this week, which is an organization dedicated to amplifying the voices of causes that make the world a better place.

Fun fact: Rowe and Turner’s NEGU Crews are also a part of ‘Team Make It Loud.’

Keep your eyes on all the club and players’ social accounts to get the latest on what they’re up to as we continue to practice safe social distancing in the coming weeks.
