eMLS Cup | Boston hosts league's premier eSports event for second straight year

John Oliveira (@JKO1707) took place in the second annual eMLS Cup, presented by PlayStation, on March 29 and March 30. This year, eMLS Cup took place at The Castle at Park Plaza in Boston as part of the PAX East showcase. On the first day of the tournament, in a change from the first two eMLS League Series events, John played all ten members of the Western Conference, finishing with a record of 3-4-3 and 12 points, bringing his season total to 33 points. At the end of the first day and the end of the regular season, John finished in 8th place out of 12 Eastern Conference Teams. John would participate in the Last Chance Bracket on the morning of March 30, with an opportunity to participate in the Live Stream event in the afternoon, as well as a chance to participate in the main event later on in the night. The Last Chance bracket consisted of each team that did not place in the top five of their conference, where they would compete in a knockout bracket for the 6th and final spot in the eMLS Cup playoffs

On day two, to start the Last Chance Bracket, John faced the 11th seeded Mike Labelle from the New York Red Bulls, where he quickly dispatched Mike 3-1, moving on to the next round of the bracket and a date with 7th seed BITW18 II from the Chicago Fire, who received a first round bye in the bracket. Unfortunately, John was not able to move on, as he fell to Chicago 3-0. Stay tuned for more highlights from eMLS Cup and other eMLS events with John Oliveira in the rest of 2019.
