Recap: Revs wrap up preseason schedule with 2-1 win over KR Reykjavik

BRADENTON, Fla. – The New England Revolution wrapped up the club's 2019 preseason slate with a 2-1 win against Icelandic side KR Reykjavik at IMG Academy on Saturday afternoon. Cristian Penilla opened the scoring for New England, both drawing and converting a penalty in the 11th minute. Reykjavik responded in the second half with an equalizer to level the score at 1-1, before Luis Caicedo recorded the game-winning goal in the 84th minute after finishing a rebound from a DeJuan Jones shot that hit the post.


The Revolution open the 24th Major League Soccer season on Saturday, March 2 against FC Dallas at Toyota Stadium. The club will then return to Gillette Stadium on March 9 for the home opener against Columbus Crew SC.
