Academy Update: All five teams in action against BW Gottschee

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – All five New England Revolution Academy teams hosted matches against BW Gottschee Academy this past weekend. The U-19s, U-17s, and U-15s played their matches at East Providence High School, while the U-14s and U-13s played their matches at Medway High School.


The U-19s, U-17s, and U-15s will host matches for a third consecutive week, when all three teams will face Oakwood SC at East Providence High School on Saturday, Oct. 28. The U-14s and U-13s will head to Advance, N.C. for the USSDA East Conference Boys' Regional Showcase. The U-14s will square off with Players Development Academy (Oct. 28), New York Red Bulls (Oct. 28), and D.C. United (Oct. 29). Meanwhile, the U-13s will play New York Red Bulls (Oct. 27), United Futbol Academy (Oct. 27), and Philadelphia Union (Oct. 28).


WEEK HIGHLIGHTS

  • Forward Michael Tsicoulias '02 (Newton, Mass.) recorded his fourth goal of the season for the U-17s against BW Gottschee Academy. Midfielder Kaoru Fujiwara '01 (Lexington, Mass.) added his second assist of the season on Tsicoulias' goal.
  • Midfielder Jonathan Murphy '03 (Monson, Mass.), midfielder Colby Quinones '03 (Bedford, N.H.), and forward Felipe Vieira '02 (Malden, Mass.) scored for the U-15s in their 3-2 win over BW Gottschee Academy. Midfielder Hikaru Fujiwara '03 (Lexington, Mass.) recorded two assists, while forward Andrew Serafino '03 (East Longmeadow, Mass.) added the game-winning assist.
  • Midfielder Jack Panayotou '04 (Cambridge, Mass.) tallied twice, while defender/midfielder Aiden Rodriguez '04 (Lunenberg, Mass.) posted a goal and an assist in the U-14s' 3-1 victory over BW Gottschee Academy.
  • Midfielder Marco Dos Santos '05 (Windham, N.H.) posted a brace and midfielder Oscar Martinez '05 (Revere, Mass.) added a goal and an assist in the U-13s' 4-0 win over BW Gottschee Academy. In addition, midfielder Randy Vang '05 (Cranston, R.I.) registered his first goal as a Revolution Academy player.
  • Goalkeeper Sam Martin '05 (Westwood, Mass.) made five saves in a shutout performance for the U-13s.
