FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Revolution’s preseason activities will begin on Monday, Jan. 23, 2017 as the team returns to Gillette Stadium to commence training for the 2017 Major League Soccer season. This preseason will see the Revolution make two trips to Arizona for friendlies in Casa Grande and Tucson (Jan. 27 – Feb. 7) and the Desert Diamond Cup in Tucson (Feb. 15-25).
Following an initial week of physical examinations and training in Foxborough, the Revolution will travel to Casa Grande, Ariz. on Jan. 27 for the first leg of preseason competition. The club is currently scheduled to participate in three exhibition matches during this trip: Jan. 31 vs. Minnesota United FC and Feb. 3 vs. New York Red Bulls in Casa Grande, Ariz., and Feb. 7 vs. Sporting Kansas City at the Kino Sports Complex in Tucson, Ariz. Kickoff times for the first two matches will be announced at a later date.
The club will return west on Feb. 13 for four matches in the Desert Diamond Cup preseason tournament at the Kino Sports Complex in Tucson, Ariz. The Revs will open the tournament on Feb. 15 vs. Real Salt Lake (11:00 a.m. MST) followed by meetings with the Colorado Rapids on Feb. 18 (1:00 p.m. MST) and Sporting Kansas City on Feb. 22 (11:00 a.m. MST). The Revolution will play a fourth and final game in the Desert Diamond Cup against an opponent to be determined on Feb. 25.

This marks the sixth straight year in which the Revolution will participate in the Desert Diamond Cup, the premier MLS preseason tournament hosted by FC Tucson. The Revs won the tournament for the first time last season and were runners-up in 2012. Also participating in this year’s tournament are Sporting Kansas City, Houston Dynamo, New York Red Bulls, Colorado Rapids, and New York City FC. Before and during these preseason trips, the Revolution will share updates on the club’s roster as it continues to take form throughout the offseason.
