  • With the 2-1 victory, the Revs remain a perfect 12-0-0 when scoring two or more goals in a game this season.
  • Tonight’s win was the Revs’ third straight victory in which they conceded the first goal … the only other time the Revs have won three consecutive games in which they trailed 1-0 was early in the 1997 season.
  • The Revolution remain in third place in the Eastern Conference three points behind Sporting Kansas City with a game in hand … it took the Revs 28 games to break 40 points this season, while in 2013 it took them 29 games.
  • Tonight’s game was the seventh regular-season meeting between the two teams … it was the first time the Revs had beaten Montreal at Gillette Stadium … the Revs are now 3-4-0 against Montreal with a 1-2-0 record at home, and a 2-2-0 record in games at Montreal.
  • This was second meeting between the two sides this season … Montreal posted a 2-0 win at home on May 31 … Montreal will host the third and final regular-season meeting between the two sides at Stade Saputo on October 11.
  • Revolution head coach Jay Heaps made three changes to the squad that beat the Chicago Fire 2-1 last weekend with Daigo Kobayashi, Teal Bunbury and Charlie Davies returning to the starting lineup in place of Scott Caldwell, Diego Fagundez and Patrick Mullins … Fagundez and Caldwell were available on the bench, while Mullins did not dress.
  • Chris Tierney was available off the bench for the first time since injuring his left knee against Columbus on July 26 … he had missed the last seven games because of that injury.
  • Two players were unavailable for the game because of injury: Andy Dorman (R MCL sprain) and Stephen McCarthy (L Meniscus injury)
  • Starting tonight at center back, A.J. Soares is now the only player on the Revolution who has started in all seven games against Montreal since the club joined the league in 2012.
  • Kelyn Rowe’s game-tying goal in the 23rd minute was his third goal of the season and the 13th goal of his career … it was his second career goal against Montreal.
  • All three of Rowe’s goals have come in the last eight games, dating back to July 30.
  • Lee Nguyen’s go-ahead goal in the 25th minute was his 13th goal of the season and the 22nd goal of his career … in his last eight games Nguyen has recorded seven goals and three assists.
  • Nguyen’s goal was his MLS-best seventh game-winning goal of the season … the Revs are now 9-1-1 this season when Lee Nguyen scores a goal.
  • Charlie Davies’ assist on Lee Nguyen’s goal was his third of the season … since July 30, he has three goals and three assists in eight games.
  • Jermaine Jones’ assist on Lee Nguyen’s goal was his third of the season and his third in as many games with the Revs … Jones is the first Revolution player to perform this feat since Saer Sene recorded assists in three consecutive games in 2013 (September 8 vs. Montreal through September 21 vs. D.C. United) … Jones now has three assists in four games since joining the club.
  • New England’s goals in the 23rd and 25th minute were the fastest two goals that the club had scored this season … prior to today, the Revs had twice scored three minutes apart, doing so against Colorado (July 30) and twice against Sporting Kansas City (April 26 and Sept. 3).
  • Tonight’s win marked the first time the Revs won without scoring a goal in the second half … the Revs’ pair of first half goals was only the fourth time this season the team has scored more than one goal in the first half.
  • The Revs played up a man after Montreal’s Krzysztof Krol received his second yellow card of the game and was ejected in the 62nd minute … the Revs now lead the league with eight red cards assessed to their opponents this season … Kansas City and Portland have seen opponents’ players sent off seven times this season.
  • Geoffrey Castillion’s made his Revolution debut in the game, coming on for Charlie Davies in the 76th minute … he signed with the club on August 25 and began training with his new team late last week.
