MONTREAL – The Montreal Impact used a pair of first-half goals to claim a 2-0 win over the New England Revolution tonight at Stade Saputo. Goals from Andres Romero and Jack McInerney made the difference as the Impact win snapped the Revolution’s seven-game (6-0-1) unbeaten run that began in mid-April.
New England (7-4-2, 23 pts.) suffered its first loss since April 5, while Montreal (2-6-4, 10 pts.) posted a win against the Revs at home for the first time since July 2012.
The Revolution return to action next Sunday, June 8, when the team hosts the New York Red Bulls at Gillette Stadium in the teams’ last match before MLS takes a two-week break from the league schedule for the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
