WASHINGTON – The New England Revolution suffered a 2-0 loss to D.C. United on the road tonight at RFK Stadium. After heading into halftime down 1-0 courtesy of an own goal, United put a stamp on the win with a stoppage time strike to round out the scoring. New England (1-3-1, 4 pts.) controlled possession – 53% to 47% – and out-shot D.C. (1-2-1, 4 pts.), but was unable to score the equalizer before United secured the win late.
Late in the game, Revolution head coach Jay Heaps was ejected from the match, and he will be forced to miss the team’s next match – Saturday, April 12 vs. Houston at Gillette Stadium. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m.
