Postgame Quotes: Revolution 2, Earthquakes 1

Andrew Farrell vs. San Jose Earthquakes

NEW ENGLAND REVOLUTION HEAD COACH JAY HEAPS
Attacking chemistry:
“I think Charlie (Davies) and Teal (Bunbury) have good chemistry. They are pretty close. For them to be on the field together, it showed that they both have ideas. Confidence wise, both of them have really been chomping at the bit to get goals and I think they will get them as they go.”

On Win:
“It is a big three points for us. It really is. We have had a tough start, especially with our schedule with being on the road so much. We had to grind out a result tonight and we felt like we did a nice job.”

NEW ENGLAND REVOLUTION DEFENDER A.J. SOARES
Defensive philosophy:
“We wanted to get pressure on the ball and alter their service. They like to get the ball with time and loft services up to their big guys up top. With that being said, when they lofted it up, we dealt with it. Jose (Goncalves) and I won the aerial battle all night. It is just the way they play. With other teams who keep the ball, it is a whole different problem you deal with. You look at the film and you look at their strength and you try and limit it.”

Mindset moving forward:
“I’m happy with the performances that we have had; that is all that I am concerned about right now. We have four points and we are going to build on it and move forward. We are confident but we were confident last week and the week before. Nothing has changed. We are used to winning now. We are going to move forward and get more points.”

NEW ENGLAND REVOLUTION MIDFIELDER LEE NGYUEN
What this win means for the club:
“Knowing that we just basically went across country and got three points was huge. The team fought really hard and now it is time to go back home and rest, get our legs back underneath us and get our minds right again. Getting this on-the-road win will allow us to have confidence on the road next week.”

On goal:
“We have everyone on this team that I know who can finish. We have a lot of great finishers so I always want to give it to someone who can finish it. Luckily, everybody was making good runs at the end and put me in and that helped me out to get the goal.”
