FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Revolution (11-11-9, 42 pts.) takes on the Montreal Impact (13-10-7, 46 pts.) at Stade Saputo on Saturday afternoon, Oct. 12. Kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m., with Comcast SportsNet broadcasting the game live on TV, and 98.5 the Sports Hub’s HD2 channel carrying the game on the radio.

The Revs enter Week 33 of MLS regular-season play three points out of the fifth and final playoff position in the Eastern Conference – and only five points separate the teams currently sitting in fourth through eighth. The Revs are in seventh place, while Montreal holds down the fourth position.

This will be the second and final meeting between the two clubs this season. Montreal earned a 4-2 win at Gillette Stadium on Sept. 7 in a game that saw Revs goalkeeper Matt Reis sent off in the fifth minute, forcing the Revs to play with 10 men for 85 minutes.

Setting the table for Saturday
The Revs head to Montreal for the second and final regular-season meeting with the Impact this season … the Impact earned a 4-2 win at Gillette Stadium on Sept.7 in the first meeting … the Revs are 1-1-0 in two previous trips to Montreal … in 2012, the Revs dropped their first-ever trip to Stade Saputo – a 2-1 loss on July 18 … in the teams’ second meeting in Montreal, the Revolution claimed a 1-0 win on Oct. 27 … Montreal holds a 3-1-0 advantage in the all-time series, including the win earlier this year at Gillette Stadium.

250 is the Number for Reis
Matt Reis made his 250th start in goal as a member of the Revs on Saturday night in New York … Reis is second only to Shalrie Joseph in games played (251 to Joseph’s 261) and games started (250 to Joseph’s 254) as a member of the Revolution … he made his 250th appearance for the Revs last week on Sept. 28 … Reis also owns almost every New England goalkeeping record including games played in goal (251), games started in goal (250), minutes played in goal (22,427), goals against average (1.32), wins (90), saves (980) shutouts (64) and save percentage (72.2) … Reis is in his 16th MLS season, and his 11th with the Revs, after beginning his career with LA in 1998.

The Hunt for “Red Line” October
The Revs enter the weekend just outside of the playoffs, looking in from three points back of fifth-place Philadelphia – which is currently above the “red line” … a total of five points separate the fourth through eighth place teams in the Eastern Conference, with Montreal (46 pts.), Philadelphia (45 pts.), Chicago (43 pts.) New England (42 pts.) and Columbus (41 pts.) all in striking distance of the final two playoff spots.

Another shuffle in the standings
Following Saturday’s 2-2 draw with the New York Red Bulls, the Revs remain just outside the final playoff position in the Eastern Conference playoff race … following last weekend’s results, a total of four teams switched places with the Houston Dynamo moving up to third and the Montreal Impact falling down to fourth … the Chicago Fire jumped from eighth to sixth with a 3-0 win over D.C. United, while Columbus fell 1-0 to Sporting Kansas City and to eighth in the standings … the Revs remained in the seventh position after Saturday’s draw.

Offense vs. defense – take your pick
Saturday’s match in Montreal sees one of the league’s best offensive teams face one of the league’s stingiest defenses … the Impact are third in scoring average (1.60 goals per game) and second in goals scored at home (1.93 per game) … the Revs are currently fifth in MLS in goals against average (1.16) and tied for first in shutouts (12) … the Revs are also tied for third in goals allowed on the road (22), behind Sporting Kansas City (14) and the Colorado Rapids (18).

Heating up at right time
As the Revs continue to push for the playoffs, some of the team’s most important offensive weapons have found their stride … Lee Nguyen scored from the penalty spot against New York on Saturday and extended his scoring streak to three games (two goals, one assist) … Diego Fagundez scored his team-leading 12th goal of the season, and has now scored four goals in his last six games … Saer Sene has added two goals and two assists in his last five games.

Fagundez moving up Revs’ scoring chart
With one more goal, 18-year-old Diego Fagundez will tie Andy Dorman for 10th place all-time on the Revs’ career scoring chart … Fagundez has had a breakout year in 2013 with 12 goals and six assists after scoring two goals in each of his first two seasons with the Revs … entering Week 33 of the MLS regular season, Fagundez is tied for fifth in MLS in goals.

Fagundez hits Revs milestone
Diego Fagundez scored his 12th goal of the season on Saturday in New York, and in the process, posted the team’s highest season goal-scoring total since Taylor Twellman scored 16 in 2007 … Fagundez’s 12th goal on Saturday pushed him past Saer Sene, who scored 11 in 2012, for the most recent season high … between 2008 and 2011, no Revs player scored more than eight goals in a season.

Reis still unbeaten
Matt Reis kept his 2013 unbeaten streak alive on Saturday as the Revs played to a 2-2 draw in New York … Reis has posted a 4-0-4 record in nine appearances in goal this season … Reis has posted an 0.74 goals against average, three shutouts and has allowed more than one goal in a game only once.

Tierney continues climb
Saturday night in New York, Chris Tierney continued his march up the Revs’ career longevity charts … he moved into eighth place all-time in games started (118), passing Kevin Alston (117) … Tierney also moved up to eighth place in minutes played (10,369), passing Michael Parkhurst (10,297).

Bengtson called up to Honduras
Jerry Bengtson, who played a crucial role in setting up Diego Fagundez’s goal at New York on Saturday, has been called-up to the Honduras National Team for its upcoming FIFA World Cup Qualifiers against Costa Rica and Jamaica … Honduras will host Costa Rica on Friday, Oct. 11, and play in Jamaica on Tuesday, Oct. 15 … Honduras is currently third in the six-team CONCACAF Hexagonal round … Bengtson has 37 caps with Honduras, and has scored 17 international goals … he will miss Saturday’s game in Montreal, but is expected to re-join the Revs on Thursday, Oct. 17.

Points adding up
Saturday night’s draw at New York gave the Revs their 42nd point of the season … it is the team’s highest point total since 2009, when the team also secured 42 points in the 30-game season … the Revolution have the opportunity to add up to nine more points in the final three games of the season … a full nine points would give the Revs 51 points, their second-highest point total ever, after the 59-point 2005 season … the Revs also broke 50 points in 2007, when they went 14-8-9.

Sovereign | Santander’s “Goals for Charity” program in full swing
Sovereign | Santander, the official bank of the New England Revolution, has launched the “Goals for Charity” campaign to coincide with the CONCACAF Gold Cup 2013 and the second half of the Revolution season … in the program, Sovereign | Santander will contribute $500 for every goal scored during the Gold Cup 2013 and Revolution games between July 6 and October 17 (a total up to $50,000) to three Boston non-profit organizations: The Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston, Cradles to Crayons and Camp Harborview.
