FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Revolution continues off-season preparations ahead of the 2013 campaign. The Revs hold the fourth selection in Stage 2 of the Re-Entry Process, which will be conducted this Friday, Dec. 14, via conference call.

Re-Entry Process continues Friday

Stage 2 of the Re-Entry Process will be held on Friday via conference call … players who went undrafted in last Friday’s Stage 1 will available to teams through the same draft order … between now and Thursday, unselected players can re-negotiate their salaries with MLS and are then available to teams at the new salary rates … like Stage 1, the Revs will have the fourth selection in each round of Stage 2 of the Re-Entry Process.


Revs quiet in Stage 1 of 2012 Re-Entry Process

The Revs and 17 other teams passed on their selections in Stage 1 of the Re-Entry Process, held last Friday via conference call … Chicago made the only selection in the first stage, choosing Maicon Santos, who most recently played for D.C. United in 2012 … a recap of Stage 1 can be found HERE.


Guy’s Guam experience

Ryan Guy returned to the U.S. this weekend after a two-assist performance for Guam at the East Asian Football Championship, held Nov. 26 through Dec. 7, in Hong Kong … Guy made three appearances – including two starts – at midfield … he recorded one assist in 90 minutes in the 2-1 loss against Hong Kong (Dec. 1), played 65 minutes in the 5-0 loss to North Korea (Dec. 3) and recorded an assist as a substitute in the 1-1 draw against Chinese Taipei (Dec. 5).


2013 Preseason plans announced

The Revolution will open its 2013 training camp on Thursday, Jan. 17, at Gillette Stadium … the team’s five-and-a-half week camp will include two extended trips to Arizona, and six games against MLS teams … a complete schedule can be found HERE.


Desert Diamond Cup tickets on sale now

Tickets for the 2012 FC Tucson Desert Diamond Cup are now on sale … for the second year in a row, the Revs will participate in the February tournament to wrap up their preseason training … the New York Red Bulls and Real Salt Lake – both teams competed in the 2012 tournament – and Seattle Sounders FC will also join the Revs in Tucson for the tournament … the round-robin group games will be played on Wednesday, Feb. 13, Saturday, Feb. 16 and Wednesday, Feb. 20, before the championship (which will be televised by NBC Sports Network) and consolation games are played on Saturday, Feb. 23 … tickets are available for purchase by clicking HERE.

2013 season tickets are now on sale … a special video including a list of pricing, all the benefits of becoming a season-ticket holder, and more, can be found HERE … the Revs finished the 2012 home schedule on a five-game unbeaten streak (2-0-3) and averaged 24,949 fans in its last home two games of the season.

2013 MLS SuperDraft

Thursday, Jan. 17 (Indianapolis, Ind.)


The Revolution currently hold four selections in the 2013 MLS SuperDraft, including the fourth overall choice in the first round … the Revs also hold three second-round picks: their own, one from D.C. United (from a Feb. 18, 2011 trade for the rights to Fred) and one from Chivas USA (from an Aug. 1 trade for Shalrie Joseph) … MLS will release the final draft order before the draft.


2013 Preseason Opens

Thursday, Jan. 17 (Gillette Stadium)


The Revs will open preseason camp with entrance physicals and testing at Gillette Stadium.


YOUTH UPDATE
Under-18s Winter Showcase summary

The Under-18s concluded their three-game schedule with a perfect 3-0-0 record … the team earned a pair of 2-1 victories against the Columbus Crew (Nov. 30) and Chivas USA (Dec. 1), before posting a 1-0 win against PA Classics (Dec. 3) in their final match … Dominik Machado (Attleboro, Mass.) scored one goal – a game-winner – and recorded three assists, while Peguy Ngatcha (Manchester, N.H.) scored one goal and added one assist.


Under-16s Winter Showcase summary

The Under-16s earned a 2-1-0 record during the Winter Showcase, suffering a 1-0 loss to the Columbus Crew (Dec. 1), before downing Chivas USA, 4-2 (Dec. 2) and PA Classics, 2-1 (Dec. 4) … Danny Apajee (Cranston, R.I.) scored two goals during the event, while four different players had one goal/one assist performances: Trevor Davock (Medway, Mass.), Zach Herivaux (Brookline, Mass.), Amadu Kunateh (Salem, Mass.) and Wes Turner (Newton, Mass.) … four Under-14 players were selected to join the travel squad: Max Diamond (Hopedale, Mass.), Aaron James (Amherst, Mass.), Matt Ranieri (Natick, Mass.) and Justin Rennicks (S. Hamilton, Mass.).


Academy Select game selections

Under-16 goalkeeper Austin Aviza (Medway, Mass.) and Under-18 defender Christian Sady (North Andover, Mass.) represented the Revs in their respective Academy Select games on Saturday, Dec. 1 at the Winter Showcase … the games featured some of the top players throughout the 80-team U.S. Soccer Development Academy … Sady played the second half for the U17/18 Blue team, which suffered a 1-0 loss to the Red team … Aviza started and played the first half for the U15/16 Red team, keeping a clean sheet during the first half en route to a 4-1 victory.


Season to-date records

Entering their winter hiatus, the Under-18s are 8-2-0 (24 pts.) overall and rank second in the Northeast Division of the U.S. Soccer Development Academy’s East Conference based on points per game. The Under-16s hold a 4-2-4 record (16 pts.) and are currently in fourth place in the Division. The Under-14s enter the break at 4-2-0 (12 pts.), which is good for sixth in U.S. Club Soccer’s Northeast Pre-Academy League.


Spring schedule

All three of the Revolution’s youth teams will resume play on Saturday, March 2, at Gillette Stadium. The U18s and U16s will take on FC Westchester, while the U14s are scheduled to play Oakwood SC. Regular training will begin the week of January 14, 2013.
