FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Revolution will officially wrap up the 2012 season this week, closing out off-season training at Gillette Stadium on Thursday before departing for the year on Friday, Nov. 16.

Soares Speaks Out Against Bullies on Tuesday

Revolution defender A.J. Soares continues his work with The Sports Museum’s “Boston vs. Bullies” initiative on Tuesday, Nov. 13, as the program expand its anti-bullying awareness messaging … Soares – who joined the program in 2011 – will participate in a special PSA presentation at the Tobin Community Center (1481 Tremont St., Roxbury Crossing, Mass.) at 4 p.m., on Tuesday …  Boston Mayor Menino will attend the event that also includes Brandon Bass (Boston Celtics) and Patrick Chung (New England Patriots) … for more information about the Boston vs. Bullies campaign, visit HERE.


Bengtson, Guy called into international duty

Two Revolution players have been called in to their respective national teams for upcoming international matches … Jerry Bengtson has been called in to represent Honduras in the team’s friendly against Peru on Wednesday, Nov. 14, in Houston, while Ryan Guy has been called up by Guam to represent the country at the East Asian Football Championship in Hong Kong … the tournament will take place Nov. 26 through Dec. 7, and will feature Australia, Guam, Hong Kong, North Korea and Taiwan.


Sene caps season #6 in final Castrol Index

Saer Sene finished the season ranked sixth in the final 2012 Castrol Index – the Official Performance Index of Major League Soccer … the index analyzes each player’s performance on every play to compile a ranking, irrespective of how many minutes he plays in a given season … Sene was the highest-ranked MLS newcomer in the index, as well as the highest-ranked Revolution player … Revolution players Kelyn Rowe (45), Matt Reis (47) and Benny Feilhaber (90) were also among the top 100 players listed.


Revolution Holiday Packs on sale Thursday

The Revolution’s popular Holiday Packs – four- and six-game ticket packages – will go on sale to the public this Thursday, Nov. 15 … fans have the choice of four- or six-game packages and both plans include the choice of one of four special-edition gifts … Holiday Pack purchasers also have the opportunity to select their seats before the general public … four-game packages start at $88 for lower-bowl seating, while six-game packages start at $108 … six-game package purchasers pay for only for five tickets and receive the sixth game free … more information can be found at revolutionsoccer.net


MLS Award Finalists to be announced on Thursday

Major League Soccer announced that the finalists for all of its 2012 season awards will be released on Thursday, Nov. 15 … a list of all of the awards and the dates on which the winners will be announced can be found HERE … last season, Darrius Barnes was a finalist for the XBOX Fair Play Award while former midfielder Zak Boggs won the MLS W.O.R.K.S. Humanitarian of the Year Award … Boggs has since retired from MLS to accept a Fulbright Scholarship to further his cancer research at Leicester University in England.


“Movember” continues as Revs, Midnight Riders commit to cancer awareness

Members of the Revolution front office, as well as one of the club’s supporter groups – The Midnight Riders – are halfway through “Movember,” an international mustache-growing program to raise funds and awareness of men’s cancers this November … fans can support the “Movember” teams by donating to members of the front office (HERE) and to the Riders (HERE) … two weeks into the campaign, the Riders are currently ranked fourth of 27 teams in the MLS network and have raised more than $1,100.


2013 Season Tickets Now on Sale

2013 season tickets are now on sale … a special video including a list of pricing, all the benefits of becoming a season-ticket holder, and more, can be found HERE … the Revs finished the 2012 home schedule on a five-game unbeaten streak (2-0-3) and averaged 24,949 fans in its last home two games of the season.


FC Tucson Desert Diamond Cup in February

For the second year in a row, the Revs will participate in the FC Tucson Desert Diamond Cup this February to wrap up their preseason training … the New York Red Bulls and Real Salt Lake – both teams competed in the 2012 tournament – and Seattle Sounders FC will also join the Revs in Tucson for the tournament … the round-robin group games will be played on Wednesday, Feb. 13, Saturday, Feb. 16 and Wednesday, Feb. 20, before the championship (which will be televised by NBC Sports Network) and consolation games are played on Saturday, Feb. 23  … for more information, visit HERE.


YOUTH UPDATE
Youth Unbeaten Last Weekend

This past weekend, the Revs’ three youth teams went unbeaten – with a combined record of 3-0-1 – against regional rival Seacoast United and league newcomer Montreal Impact … the Under-18s posted a pair of wins (2-1 over Seacoast and 1-0 over Montreal), while the Under-16s went 1-0-1 with a 2-1 win over Seacoast and a 0-0 draw against Montreal … the Under-14s were off last weekend.


New York Trip up Next

The Under-18s and Under-16s will next travel to face the New York Cosmos on Saturday, Nov. 17, while the Under-14s will face BW Gottschee the same day … all three games will be played at the Aviator Sports and Events Center in Brooklyn, N.Y.


Season To-Date Records

Entering next week’s action, the Under-18s are now 4-2-0 (12 pts.) … the Under-16s are 2-1-4 (10 pts.) … the Under-14s are 4-1-0 (12 pts.) … all three teams rank in the top third of their respective divisional standings based on points per game.
