Revolution announces U14-U18 tryout information

2012 Youth Tryouts

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Revolution will hold tryouts for its newly-created Revolution Academy Under-14 team, as well as its existing Under-16 and Under-18 teams, at Gillette Stadium on Monday, July 2.


Players born in the following years are eligible to try out: 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998 and 1999. There is no fee to try out, but all prospective players must register for the tryout no later than Sunday, July 1. Players who have not already registered will not be allowed to tryout on July 2.


Open Tryout Schedule: Monday, July 2
Gillette Stadium (Foxborough, Mass.)


Birth Years: 1995, 1996 and 1997
Time: 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.


Birth Years: 1998 and 1999
Time: 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.


Important Tryout Information

  • Registration information is available here
  • All players who plan to attend a Revolution Academy tryout session are required to have consent and liability release forms with them, signed by a parent or legal guardian. Players without the necessary signed forms will not be allowed to try out
  • All players should arrive at the respective locations 30 minutes before their age-group tryout begins to ensure all required paperwork is in order
  • Selected players will be called back for a final round of tryouts later in the week


The Revolution Academy’s youth teams - which U.S. Soccer rated among the nation’s top eight youth programs last year - is the only fully-funded youth soccer program in New England and competes in the prestigious U.S. Soccer Development Academy at the U16 and U18 age levels. The U14 team will compete in U.S. Club Soccer’s Northeast Pre-Academy League in 2012-13.


Qualified and talented players are accepted into the program without regard to their financial situation. All players’ needs and expenses related to soccer activities – training, facilities, equipment, uniforms, travel associated with competitions – are provided by the Revolution at no cost to the players or their families.


Players who are chosen to represent the Revolution on its youth teams will be required to forgo their high school soccer seasons as now required by U.S. Soccer.
