TEAM NOTES

Shalrie Made Revs History
With his 239th start in Toronto on Saturday, Shalrie Joseph became the Revolution club leader in starts, surpassing Jay Heaps’ previous record of 238 … Joseph, who has spent his entire nine-year career with New England, also tied Heaps on Saturday for games played with 243 career appearances for the Revs.

Feilhaber Finishes With Seven Helpers
Benny Feilhaber recorded two assists in the season-finale on Saturday in Toronto, finishing the season with seven assists in 23 games since arriving in April … Feilhaber’s club-leading seven assists are the most in one season for the Revs since Shalrie Joseph’s eight in 2009 … it was Feilhaber’s first multiple-assist game in MLS, and the club’s second of the year.

Benny’s Big on Field, Banks Points When in Score Line
In his first year in MLS, Benny Feilhaber was an impact player for the Revs … of the 23 games in which he was in the lineup, the Revs picked up at least one point 11 times, or 47 percent of Feilhaber’s appearances … when he scored a goal or an assist, the chance of a Revs point skyrocketed to 60 percent, with a point in six of the those 10 matches … in the five games which he missed after joining the club, the Revs went 1-2-2.

How Kevin Alston Measures a Year
Kevin Alston set the Revs’ club record for minutes played in a season with 2,954 … after MLS added four games to the 2011 schedule – creating a 34 game-season – Alston started and played a personal-record 33 straight matches after missing only the season-opener at LA … Alston broke the former club record of 2,880 minutes played, recorded three times: Mike Burns (1997), Michael Parkhurst (2005) and Matt Reis (2006).

Matt Reis Finishes Second in MLS for Saves
Despite missing the final three games of the season because of a right hamstring injury, Matt Reis still finished second in MLS in saves this season with 111 in 27 matches – three behind San Jose’s Jon Busch (114 saves, 33 games) … when breaking down the saves per game numbers, Reis’s 4.11 saves per game stands above all as he was the only MLS goalkeeper to average more than four saves per game.

Monsef, Milton Make Mark
Monsef Zerka and Milton Caraglio finished their seasons with one goal apiece on Saturday in Toronto, making their mark on the club after both were signed in August … Caraglio, who was signed on Aug. 2 as the club’s first Designated Player, recorded three goals and two assists in 12 starts at striker, while Monsef Zerka, signed on Aug. 18, scored two goals and added one assist in seven starts as an outside midfielder.

Double-Digit Reds Come against Reds
Chris Tierney’s second yellow card and subsequent red card in the final minute of stoppage time in Toronto on Saturday was the club’s 10th red card of the season – the second highest number ejections in league history behind the 2000 MetroStars (11 ejections, 32 games) … the 10th red card, surpassing the previous club record of six in 1998, was the Revs’ first red card Aug. 20 when Kenny Mansally picked up two yellow cards (and subsequent red) against New York.

Individual Ejections Lead League, Set Club Record
The Revs finished the season with a league-leading 10 red cards and were the only team in MLS to have two players with multiple red cards … Chris Tierney’s stoppage-time red-card on Saturday matched A.J. Soares’ two ejections, marking the first time in club history that the Revs had two individuals with a pair of red cards in a season … Tierney will miss the opening match of 2012 while serving a mandatory one-game red-card suspension.
